Flavours Of Faversham
This year’s Festival promises to be even bigger & better than the inaugural event in 2003, and takes place during the same weekend as Faversham’s Secret Gardens Scheme which includes more than 20 different private gardens to visit.

FavershamFlavours of Faversham 2004 includes:

 Food & Drink Markets in the town centre featuring local produce, including breads & cakes, fruits & vegetables, meats & cheeses, candies & cookies, pastries & pies, juices & beers and much more! There will plenty of good food & drink to taste and to buy;

Hop LIPS (Ladies in Pigs) on the Market Place, cooking fresh pork dishes with meat donated by local prize-winning butcher, A J Barkaway, and encouraging visitors to taste their recipes;

 outdoor & indoor demonstrations including “Fool-Proof Flapjacks”, Summer Cocktails, making dessert omelettes, “No Fuss Cheesecake”, and how to fillet and cook fresh fish, among others;

 indoor talks & presentations, including a presentation by John Fleming, co-founder of the famous Ludlow Festival, on the European phenomenon of Slow Food;

Faversham tasting events throughout the town feature sausages, beers, wines, cheeses and other delectables;

 Sunday will feature The Faversham Big Breakfast & entertainment in the Market Place;

 NEW in 2004 is The Flavour of Faversham Competition. Various pubs, cafes, restaurants & eateries throughout the town will offer special Competition Dishes, available to buy throughout the month of July leading up to the Festival. Each participating business will have entry forms to register customers’ views & opinions, leading to a short list of entries which will be tested by our visiting Judging Panel during the Festival weekend.

So, there’s plenty to see, visit, taste and experience during the Flavours of Faversham weekend – come along and enjoy the rich variety of local food & drink in our lovely medieval town.
